An Alpine Summer of Sound: Aspen’s Eight-Week Celebration of Classical Music, Creativity, and Community
Set in the breathtaking heart of the Colorado Rockies, the Aspen Music Festival and School is one of the most renowned summer music celebrations in the United States—an immersive eight-week experience where world-class artistry meets next-generation talent.
Founded in 1949, AMFS offers a rich program of over 300 events, including orchestral concerts, opera, chamber music, solo recitals, master classes, and lectures. The festival not only draws music lovers from around the globe—it also trains hundreds of exceptional young musicians, making Aspen a hub of both performance and artistic evolution.
This year’s 2025 season runs from July 2 through August 24, and features:
🎻 Four full orchestras performing masterworks by Brahms, Beethoven, Bernstein, Shostakovich, and Tchaikovsky
🎼 Notable soloists including Conrad Tao, Joyce Yang, Seong-Jin Cho, Ana María Martínez, and Gil Shaham
🎬 Special event screenings like Going Varsity in Mariachi and Flicka: A Love Letter
🎤 Opera Encounters and a full production of Mozart’s Così fan tutte
📚 Free community programs, including lectures, family concerts, panel discussions, and Spotlight Recitals nearly every day
🌈 Community Pride Celebration, Yoga in the Park, and Sound Healing Sessions to nourish both body and spirit
